History ::

The Congregation of Sister Servants of Christ the King began their work in North Dakota in 1940 where they ran a maternity home as well as a nursing home. In 1949 they were invited to Mt. Calvary to work in the kitchen and cook meals for the seminarians and professors at St. Lawrence Seminary. Subsequently members of the Mt. Calvary Community approached the Sisters and asked them to consider building and managing a retirement/nursing home. The Mihm farm became available to purchase and along with a generous benefactor who donated some monies the Villa Loretto Nursing Home opened its doors in September 1965.

In 1998 a private room wing and Coffee Shop were added and some much needed renovating completed.
