We offer a variety of living spaces designed to accommodate various housing and financial needs. Below are some of our typical apartment floor plans. Luther Manor's tradition of community service dates back over 30 years to the sponsorship of its first senior center in a partner congregation's church. Today Community Services encompasses a broad range of programs designed to educate, inform and support the steadily increasing needs of the aging population in Greater Milwaukee. The primary Community Services include: Senior Centers Located in partner congregations, Luther Manor now sponsors 10 senior centers throughout Metro Milwaukee. Each year, these centers provide over 2,000 seniors with meals, educational programs, worship and bible study, recreational tours, health screenings, service projects, and social fellowship. Education A variety of educational offerings enhance independent living and promote lifelong health and growth. Workshops and presentations help people maintain physical, emotional and spiritual well-being. Parish Nurse Program This program helps older individuals and independent families cope with the special changes and challenges of aging. In partnership with congregations, our Parish Nurses work with seniors through consulting, guiding and assessing health needs. They link people with community resources and health professionals. They also teach how to live healthier lives through exercise, diet and preventative health care. Information, Referral & Care Management Friendly support from a knowledgeable source often helps people address problems and discover solutions. Luther Manor's professional staff offers information and referrals to a wide variety of health, housing, recreation and social service options. Support Groups & Adult Day Services Luther Manor co-sponsors support groups for seniors, family members and caregivers. Convenient meeting times and locations allow participants to share experiences, strength and hope. Adult Day Services give caregivers a break from the full-time responsibilities of caring for a loved one at home, especially those coping with Alzheimer's disease (See Adult Day Services on this Web Site) |

Luther Manor Adult Day Services are available at our Milwaukee/Wauwatosa site and at Lakefield Adult Day Center located at St. John Lutheran Church in Grafton, Wis. These services are open to those caring for older adults at home. Weekend days and overnight weekend respite care is available at our Milwaukee site. Participants spend their days with a healthy balance of activities based upon an individualized care plan developed by our specially-trained nursing staff. Recreational programs include crafts, gardening, baking, exercise class, spiritual reflection and Bible Study music and meaningful discussion. An innovative Artist-in-Residence program gives our Milwaukee participants the opportunity to develop and express artistic talents that add purpose and self worth. At lunch time, participants gather together for nutritious meals served family style. After lunch, they have time for rest and personal grooming. Our Milwaukee site features bath services with a bathtub equipped with a lift. With Adult Day Services, our focus goes beyond the care of older adults and extends to their families through support groups, information and referral services and family consultation. We use a blend of social and medical models of care that allow us to work effectively with those suffering from memory loss, Alzheimer's disease and related dementia.
