Each year volunteers devote over 60,000 hours of their time to our mission of showing God's love for older adults. Their dedication is a key element in fulfilling our promise of quality care and a secure lifestyle to older men and women. In many ways, Luther Manor is like a friendly, small town where staff, volunteers and residents interact in a warm, supportive environment. Volunteers find a wide array of activities and programs in which to become involved. From teenagers seeking employment skills to retirees wanting to share their talents, our volunteer program has something for everyone. Volunteers can get involved with: Wing Teas--Assist with gatherings held twice a month to encourage socializing and conversation Coffee Carts--Serve home-baked cookies along with coffee and tea to nursing home residents Friendly Visits--Spend a few minutes with residents to ease loneliness and build friendships Ice Cream Parlors & Gift Shops--Staff these favorite spots to enjoy treats and good conversation Mending & Sewing--A sense of fun and accomplishment for novice and experienced alike Transporting--Transporting frail residents via wheelchair--a great way to serve and keep in shape Adult Day Center--Socialize and help with activities and meals for seniors who can't be home alone Activity Assistance--Lend your hands and eyes to those who can't create crafts on their own Popcorn Cart--Bring the aroma and taste of freshly popped popcorn to residents, staff and visitors Care Cab Escorts--Provide security and comfort to residents traveling off-campus to appointments Reception Desk--Answer phones, welcome visitors and help with other tasks Let us know what you'd like to share as a volunteer Flexible hours offer volunteers a chance to help with a single service or to participate in many different activities. Luther Manor Foundation & Charitable Giving

Luther Manor's ministry could not exist without the generous financial support of hundreds of people, congregations and businesses that give to the Luther Manor Foundation. The Foundation assists current residents in all housing areas who have outlived their financial resources. Through Foundation subsidies, no resident at Luther Manor has ever had to leave because of an inability to pay. Donations to the Foundation also support special renovation and expansion projects and vital community services that reach beyond Luther Manor's Milwaukee/Wauwatosa campus.

Here are ways that friends of Luther Manor become financially involved with our mission:

Our Promise for Generations Campaign
Funds are used for expanded support for residents who have outlived their own financial resources. The campaign provides ongoing support for renovation and capital improvements, and for expanded congregation and community-based services designed to help people live at home as long as possible. Funds are also used for new program development.

Charitable Gift Annuities
Gift annuities provide an excellent way to assist Luther Manor and at the same time enjoy dependable income for life. Donors receive income during their lifetimes. Upon death, the annuity balance is transferred to the Foundation.

Special Purpose Gifts
Donations are given in support of specific needs at Luther Manor.

Memorial Gifts
Friends and families often choose to honor the memory of loved ones with a gift to The Luther Manor Foundation. Acknowledgments of gifts are sent to the family of the deceased naming the donor.

Heritage Partners
Special friends have included Luther Manor's ministry in their charitable estate planning.

Bequests & Honor Tributes
Friends remember Luther Manor in their wills or honor relatives and friends with a donation.

Partner Congregational Support
Congregations give through the Luther Manor Auxiliary, direct financial gifts and special donations.
