Our History

In 1959 Grace Lutheran Church received a legacy from the M.B. (Barney) and Myrtle Syverson Estate in the amount of $360,000. In order to use this gift in the most effective and beneficial way, church leaders incorporated the Grace Lutheran Foundation as a non-profit organization. The Foundation's original mission was to assist the elderly with health care, housing and other services that would help them maintain independent living. That mission continues today.

Grace Lutheran Foundation, through its many diverse programs, provides client and family oriented services to enhance the many stages of a person's life, to serve the whole person and to strengthen the human spirit.

New and ongoing programs are guided by the Foundation's original philosophy of quality, Christian care for individuals of all ages and faiths in the Chippewa Valley.
