In just the past few years, Wisconsin has seen the rise of a new force in the long term care spectrum. While skilled nursing facilities are reckoning with downsizing and closings, the caregiving landscape is taking on a new look with the continued development of independent living facilities and assisted living facilities. Indeed, the growth, and possibly the future, of long term care is in senior housing.
The time has come to harness the energy that has propelled senior housing into the spotlight. This is a component of the long term care continuum that has earned the right to be recognized and respected for all that it is and all it will become. It’s time to grow into the future by building on the success of senior housing.
WAHSA’s Beyond the Boundaries seminar series certificate program recognizes the unique issues and needs of today’s senior housing facilities. Through this certificate program you will learn how to bring a new business plan into your senior housing operations. You will discover how the fine details of operations, affordability, sales and marketing can all work together toward your ultimate success in a very competitive and challenging environment. You will have the opportunity to earn a certificate that identifies you as a professional who is willing to go Beyond the Boundaries to build the future for senior housing.
Affordable senior living is at or near the top of the list of social and economic needs for Seniors as well as being a major provider issue -- and opportunity. The market is huge and the need is enormous, but can we really deliver affordable independent living and assisted living? This seminar will identify the issues, barriers and opportunities in providing financially viable, affordable senior living consistently in markets across the United States, with specific emphasis on Wisconsin. Realistic strategies to lower both capital (land, bricks and mortar) costs and daily operating expenses will be presented. Various senior consumer groups will be analyzed, with specific emphasis on the “gap income group” (incomes from $12,000 to $20,000). The seminar also will present a case study of the practical appreciation of assisted living affordability strategies.
This seminar will address the complex -- and sometimes multidimensional -- issues of affordability. The senior living market is not what it used to be! We no longer can be order takers. This comprehensive seminar will present practical and highly cost-effective sales and marketing strategies, tactics and initiatives. Approaches presented are based on years of experience that have proven to be effective in the competitive marketplace.
